Mitrol M2000 V1r1 Installation instruction for MVS The Mitrol M2000 System product libraries for MVS are V1R1 y2k version of 24bit Mitrol V11B V1R2 y2k version of 31bit Mitrol V115XA V1R3 y2k version of 31bit Mitrol V12 In this library Mitrol executable modules Member MIMS2 is Mitrol DUPD no manufacturing verbs (small module) Member MIMS is Mitrol DUPD with manufacturing verbs (large module) Mitrol message library Mitrol utilities Mitrol loadlib containing run-time programs for the expanded schema processing Mitrol TXTLIBs containing Mitrol product as unresolved linkedit modules Mitrol support files such as MTST data, SAMPLIB and PROCLIB libraries Documentation See Manuals directory for a set of electronic manuals in PDF format The correct version of the free acrobat reader is included Download ZIP files to PC and unzip Acrobat_30_installation.EXE Mitrol Messages Manual.ZIP Mitrol Request Reference Manual.ZIP MVS SAM Installation Guide.ZIP MVS Systems Administration Guide.ZIP VM SAM Installation Guide.ZIP VM SAM Operations guide.ZIP Mitrol_MVS_manuals.zip The Mitrol product libraries are available to download in XMIT format suitable for rebuilding with the RECEIVE command under TSO 1) Download the documentation files to a PC using IMAGE or BINARY transmission 2) The manuals stay on the PC, you will need a (free) Acrobat v3 reader to access them 3) Download the Core Technology files to a PC using IMAGE or BINARY transmission, or download direct to your mainframe. If downloading to a PC then you may download the ZIP variant to reduce transmission times. Expand on your PC before uploading to the mainframe. 4) Store or upload to mainframe as PS/FB/80/3120 format files 5) Use sample CLIST or interactively under TSO, you can import the XMIT files and rebuild them using the default names or rename as desired 6) The support files SUPPORTX and the TXTLIB XMIT are doubly exported. The sequential file is RECEIVED to create a PDS of XMIT files, each of which needs to be RECEIVED to rebuild a Mitrol product library All MIMS modules require PLI2.3 runtime support to implement y2k compatibility The Mitrol runtime JCL is as for V115 with the exception of an additional JCL card The POOLSIZE vtam Mitrol parameter was discontinued with V115 //MIMSLIN DD * MITROL LICENCE CARD GOES HERE /* The MIMSLIN DD card points to a card image dataset, or is an instream dataset, containing records describing your installation, the CPU’s in use and the version of Mitrol that you are licenced to use. Mitrol jobs will fail without this ddcard, depending on your level or hardware and software, this failure may be a user friendly message from Mitrol, or an unfriendly MVS message. This is being investigated. A null dataset or an invalid card such as above will cause all the databases to be marked readonly. You must advise Teamco of any and all cpus that you will use for testing Mitrol, and Teamco will send you the licence data strings to enter via the MIMSLIN stream. The cpu serial number is expected in the form xxxnnnnn, a five digit hexnumber is the minimum necessary Sample JCL with the revised PLI parameters is shown below for 31bit Mitrol //S1 EXEC PGM=MIMS, // PARM='ISA(1M),HEAP(1M,1M,ANYWHERE,KEEP)/PARMDD=PARMS' //STEPLIB DD DSN=MIMS.MODULE,DISP=SHR // DD DSN=PLI.V2R3.SIBMLINK,DISP=SHR // DD DSN=PLI.V2R3.PLILINK,DISP=SHR //MSGLIB DD DSN=MIMS.MSGLIB,DISP=SHR //PARMS DD DISP=SHR,DSN=MIMS.DATA(B24TEST) //SYSIN DD DISP=SHR,DSN=MIMS.DATA(B24TEST) //MIMSLIN DD * MITROL LICENCE CARD GOES HERE //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=* //MIMSLOG DD DISP=MOD,DSN=MIMS.MIMSLOG //MIMSMON DD DISP=MOD,DSN=MIMS.MIMSMON //MIMSOUT DD SYSOUT=*,DCB=(LRECL=133,RECFM=FBA,BLKSIZE=133) //SYSOUT DD SYSOUT=*,DCB=(LRECL=133,RECFM=FBA,BLKSIZE=133) //AILOG DD DISP=MOD,DSN=MIMS.DATABASE.AILOG If you need the PLI2.3 runtime libraries then download the files from the PLI23 library, but you must have a valid IBM licence to use these files. These files were made available here for clients who have a valid PLI licence under Language Environment, Mitrol will not execute under LE as it is not upwardly compatible from PLI23, you will need to download an duse the PLI23 runtime support. Outstanding issues under investigation 1) We have experienced several C03 abends with utilities which make direct actions on the disks, such as INDEX, FILETRUNC and RECTRUNC. They appear to work normally except for failure on termination 2) We see a difference in error recovery behaviour between processors that support 370 mode instructions, and those (such as a 9672-RY5 which does not support 370 execution. Sample JCL to reconstitute an unloaded group of libraries. The groups are for the TXTLIB and support libraries. The TXTLIB libraries for V12 are suffixed BEMOSU V115 are suffixed bcdefhmorsuxz V11B are suffixed bcdefhmoqrsu The samples below are for V11B, some customisation for installation standards and DASD availability will be necessary Process to RECEIVE the xmit files CLIST=MITXMIT PROC 1 XI CONTROL NOFLUSH PROMPT NOMSG FREE DA(XMIT.M2000.&XI.) Mitrol M/R can be authorised by simple relinking I am in the process of reworking the samples and tests, but it is very much a background process If there is a mistake in the above it is my fault, please tell me so that I can correct it for others Any problems, email me at woodj@mitrol.com or support@mitrol.fr
